Do education tenders require CIPC registration?

197 education tenders on record name it in their bid documents, and 7 of those are open right now. It is not universal — plenty of tenders in this category do not ask for it — but on this kind of work it is common enough to plan for.

Can I bid on a education tender without CIPC registration?

Not on the ones listed here. Where a tender names CIPC registration as a requirement, a bid without it is normally disqualified at the administrative stage, before anyone opens your pricing. That is the expensive part: you do the work of pricing a bid and it is never read.

What CIPC documents do tenders ask for?

Normally the registration certificate, either a CoR 14.3 or the older CK document, plus a current disclosure showing active directors. Some buyers want a copy issued within the last three months.

What if my company is deregistered or non-compliant?

A company in deregistration cannot validly contract with the state, and this is caught at award. Outstanding annual returns are the usual cause, and they can be filed and paid on the CIPC portal to restore standing.
